No fat or oil needs to be added, as the moisture from the plank keeps your food juicy and flavorful with no nutrient loss. Planks are cut to 6 by 12″ to fit into a standard-sized sink. Just soak for 20 minutes, then place fish, meat, poultry or vegetables on the plank and place on the preheated grill. Instructions included with cooking times. Reuse each plank two to three times.

Planks cut to 6 by 12 inches in size so that they fit into a regular sink. Soak for 20 minutes, then place your fish, meat, poultry or vegetables on the plank and place on the preheated grill. See instructions for cooking times. Each plank can be reused two to three times.

Grilling Plank Instructions

Submerge the plank in water for at least 30 minutes. Pre-heat your barbecue to a medium high heat (400-425 degrees). Place the soaked plank onto the grill and close the lid for a couple of minutes until the plank starts to smoke. Then place the food on the plank, reclose the lid and follow the temperature guide in the recipe. If a flame should occur, douse with water as needed or keep a spray bottle handy.

Use the plank to serve your meal by placing it on a board or platter. It will be extremely hot, so use tongs, gloves or oven mitts to remove from heat. Cleanup is easy with warm soapy water - wash and leave to dry. Store in a paper bag. It can usually be used two or three times. To dispose of used plank, when cool, you can crumble onto charcoals for additional flavor for future barbecues or discard appropriately.

    My order arrived in record time and I was really looking forward to my FIRST plank cooked meal! I used an alderwood plank, followed the instructions with the plank and cooked 2 Talipia filets and a Swordfish filet. OH MY GOD! They were to die for! Great flavor, moist,and cooked to perfection. We will never cook fish any other way again! Since than, I’ve cooked beef, pork and other types of fish using both the cedar and alder planks and everything has come out absolutely outstanding. What make this a great value is you get both cedar and alder wood planks for a variety of flavors with different types of foods. I love the milder alderwood with fish but the cedar goes great with salmon and ribs. So play around with each type to suit your own taste but DO TRY PLANK COOKED FOODS! You’ll never go back to plain old BBQ foods again! Great buy and one I will be repeating over and over again as we go through BBQ season (which is all year here in San Diego)!
